WENDY SIPPEL

Director

Although Wendy Sippel began her professional career as a high school teacher, she is a generalist and has experience in several other diverse occupations – ranging from instructional design to project management of an afforestation initiative in the Miombo woodlands of sub-Saharan Africa. She has a wealth of knowledge about natural cosmetics and herbal lore inherited from her mother and grandmother and has always been a keen amateur botanist and herbalist. When she began making soaps and cremes for a pop up Market in December 2014, it occurred to her that it would be a great idea to share this passion with others. Her knowledge of indigenous herbs and their application has been a valuable addition to the company.

Director/Designer

Elizabeth Tristram completed her masters in fine arts at Rhodes Universlty in 2010 and went on to start her own illustration and instructional design company. Since she can remember, she has always shared her mother’s quest for healthier and more environmentally friendly alternatives to over-the-counter cosmetics. Since early childhood, she watched and assisted Wendy Sippel, when she made her own cremes, toners and other body products, using age-old family recipes. The next step was a natural progression – why not create these amazing products for others? As a co-founder of Crafted Cosmetics and a talented artist and designer, Elizabeth combines her passion for natural cosmetics with her graphic design skills. She is responsible for all branding and packaging design for the company.
