Driven By Nature

Crafted Cosmetics is a young local company that began because three like-minded people were focused on the need for natural products without dangerous preservatives and detergents. They solved the problem by making SLES free soaps and paraben-free cremes for their own use. Crafted Cosmetics is passionate about natural products. Our foci are beauty without cruelty and educating the public about the dangers of many of the chemicals used in commercially produced cosmetics.
We don’t believe in false promises and the hype that drives the beauty industry but we do believe in the power of nature to protect, heal and beautify. We work both with indigenous and more commonly used natural botanicals to create products that restore skin health and a feeling of wellbeing.
This soon developed into a fascinating hobby – and one that rapidly became profitable. More and more people were keen to use the unique products developed in this cottage industry. Elizabeth Tristram, a graphic designer and artist by profession, designed the logo and created the branding for the products. All three contributed in their own way to the development of the product range, experimenting with an array of indigenous herbs and turmeric to create beautiful healing cremes and body butters.
Megan Pansegrouw and Wendy Sippel began actively marketing their creations when the Bagdad market opened its “doors” and have been a part of this vibrant local event ever since – but their horizons are expanding all the time. Crafted Cosmetics is all about harnessing the beautifying and healing qualities of nature and doing it without animal testing!
